Theresa Crowd -it did exist she worked in BT and was in the internal directory.

Alexander Alexander (my mums uncle) called double Eck.
O way to go Al -PMSL
It could have been worse. Their surname might have been 'Organ'.

Not the same thing, but my mother in law told me the story of a family she knew while she was teaching one of their sons. The woman was having another baby, and when it was born they announced he was to be called Gooey.

Taken aback, my mother in law asked the woman how the name was spelled.

''G U Y' she replied......
I know a Richard Dick - he is called Dick Dick and he works in CID, so he is Dick Dick Dick.

I knew a woman called Peronel Stiff. I know a Richard Head, whose nickname was ********. Don't know why but it still makes me laugh ten years on.

My ex works in a bank and he once told me a woman called Rhoda Dick applied for a loan. He got a rollicking for laughing at her, so it must have been true. Poor woman.

Aww Al that is class -I had to say it a couple of times myself -look at the bairns face -looks like his dad has just confensed -lol
This is the reason why we read names out again and again when we were choosing our kids names!

Mr P made it difficult enough without even adding our surname. I couldn't have Lucy because some people might call her Lucy Lastic etc.

It was a nightmare!
Theres a scouser bar in tenerife. The oners have two kids one called billy. The other called

TIGER !!!

Similar to Drisgirl's; the first time I saw the name Penelope, I thought it rhymed with envelope. As for unusual names, there is a doctor in our local hospital whose last name is Doctor. So what you hear when he's being paged over the PA system is "Doctor Doctor"!
the first and surnames ryhme Boo lol

Oh- they don't in my head, I pronounce it ver-sar-chey and then mac-glat (rhyming with bat)- ey
Oh yes, that name rhyming thing is really funny.

A mate of mine has a cousing called Hughston Poulston. He is Scottish, and the way he says it is even more hysterical!
''Can't you see I'm burning, burning...''

stewey? lol.

I always used to have problems with pronouncing Hermione. And don't get me started on Irish names...
