I expect its because we would rather be somewhere else and leave it too late to get there in an idle rather than rushed manner!
For me, it's a mixture of liking my sleep too much and vanity; I'm always late getting up and I'm too vain to go out the house without lippy and mascara and sorting my hair out, which can take ages as I'm having a bad hair decade.
and why do they call it the rush hour when it's the slowest part of the day?
What amazes me is how people fight tooth & nail to squeeze into an already packed tube, when the next train is only a minute or two behind it.

Actually it's because I like work and can't wait to get there. Um... Nurse, I think it's time for my medication now...
o.k. typical morning beginns at 5.30am walk the dog. Back by 6.15am give my gran her insulin and breakfast. Now 6.30 make the kids lunches an get em up feed em breakfast and do the bathroom gauntlet. Now my mothers kids turn up try to get my mum up for her childminding job at now 8am still tryin to get her up at 8.15 before rushin out the door for work thats why i rush not enuff hours in the day.
