I have always thought it would be nice to be a twin. To always have someone who thinks like me and i can get on with.

I know not all twins get on but i think generally they are very close.

When i eventually have kids i would like them to be twins because i would feel like i know they would (probably) be close forever and always have each other to rely on when i'm gone - more so than ordinary siblings

what do you think?

thanks

you should probably find a partner with twins in his family line, as I think there is a genetic predisposition to this. Or of course you could have fertility treatment and have octuplets, but that may be a few too many.

I agree that twins are usually very close, however i have a brother and have always wished i'd had a sister aswell as i would've had more in common with a girl and would've been able to do more things together. I know not all sisters get on with each other but i would love to have one, twin or not.

Also, i don't think i would've liked to have an identical twin coz then i'd think my boyfriend fancied her too or would mistake her for me one day :)

I heard somewhere that twins have a higher chance of being passed down through the female...

I don't remember ever wanting to be a twin, nor did I want to have twins myself.

My husband is a twin, but people usually say it skips one generation, so my baby might have the double trouble if he/she ever decides to have babies.

no. my twin would be a green giant and he would squash me...

I'm an identical twin and its good, but not as drammatically different as many people think.

I (we!) have an elder brother and I am not as close to him as I am my twin, but we are still close like brothers who are good mates are. A lot of it comes down to growing up closely together with your twin, doing similar things and having shared freinds. We only became slightly different after leaving school to go to Uni, Ironically, after varied career paths, we both now have similar jobs, more by accident than intent!

Weird things do happen though - my twin lives in Jersey, I live in Berkshire. Only this lunchtime I was strolling through town and one of his colleagues on a business trip passed me and recognized "my twin", stopping to say hello - fortunately I had met him previously so understood the confusion. A fortnight ago some girl he knew from years back spied "him" in a ski bar in Val D'Isere and would not have it otherwise that I was a different person...and when we were teenagers I had a lot of explaining to do when my girlfriends parents saw "me" out with another girl! :-)

Its great fun - I wouldn't want not to be a twin.

..I should add:

Yes - we like the same things and have similar opinions

No - we have never exchanged partners for a laugh!

No - we are not telepathic

...for the 986,345th I have answered those questions in my life!! Just thought I would get my answer in first! :-)

I completely agree with steve. I have an identical twin sister...

We've always had people sayignt o us how lucky we are,.. and i know we are blessed, and im very greatful to have her around. but there are downsides too..

I think if you find someone who you can truly be yourself with, someone with similar intrests, who lives near you, someone who will put up woth your moods or annoying habits and always be there afterwards, then you really have a pretty much similar relationship to the one that twins have. I think its just about finding a very unique bond with another person... and at one point in everyones life.. they will. :)
