Afternoon all - what are you planning for dinner tonight?

I will be having my take on a Salmon Poke Bowl - instead of sticky rice I use giant cous cous or pearl barely.

Nothing terrible exciting tonight...a couple of slices of black pudding with creamy scrambled eggs.
I had salmon last night...marinated in sweet chilli sauce and tamari soy plus garlic.
Gammon steaks, pineapple, peas and creamy mash.
Husband is a wonderful chef :)

Ooo scallops go lovely with black pudding

I say I am having that but he has lasagne so I may just end up with eggs on toast if I can't be bothered to cook - will see how I feel later lol
Question Author
Love a gammon steak
Must admit, all these lovely things to do/have with salmon is something we've never thought of doing. Might be asking for ideas the next time one is caught.
5 anglers in the family doesn't promise one soon lol
Not sure, I might do what I call "Garden Cheesy Chicken". Which is toms, aubergines, courgettes, onions and peppers with a couple of butterflied chicken breasts on top and baked in the oven and then topped with cheese and breadcrumbs. It's a bit like chicken parmigiana.

Or it might just be beans on toast.

Whatever it is it needs to be quick because I have got a mountain of stuff to do between now and next Sat (helping a friend with her wedding catering).
Salmon Poke - is that anything like tickling trout?
Question Author
Ooo BM that sounds lovely.
My last tomato’s have been hit by blight!!
Beans in toast equally nice as long as it has cheese on it.
Question Author
Lol tickling the trout!
I think alba's family are codding her when they say they are going fishing...
We’re having chicken burgers (proper chicken breast in spicy breadcrumbs courtesy of Birds Eye) in oven bottom muffins, with some chopped up cucumber and tomatoes and possibly a small tin of sweet corn.
And I’ll be having some kimchi with mine, himself looked at it, smelled it and decided he hated it...
Question Author
groan with the fisshy puns

Chicken burger sounds lovely but I would have it wrapped in a crispy lettuce leave with copious amounts of mayo
dirty rice for me
Tuna pasta bake.
Fresh caught salmon, alba? I'm very jealous...mine was from the farm :(
I think I may add some garlic mushrooms to my meal. I was going to stuff them, but they are not quite big enough.

Just finished....a simple peasant's meal.

Lightly pan fried salmon in salted butter and black pepper.
Idaho potatoes with lashings of cream and butter.
Asparagus flashed in a hot pan.

"Mad Fish" Western Australian Sauvignon.

Pancakes ...baby pancakes crisp around the edges.

Mrs sqad.....blouse and cropped jeans, hair perfect.

Well, a normal standard meal .
Baked beans flambe is always a favourite.
Beef casserole cooked in the slow cooker, mashed potatoes, broccoli spears to go with the veg cooking in with the meat
Grilled crispy chicken thighs served with roasted med veg then baked spicy plums with vanilla ice-cream.

I'd say it is at an all time high! And such finesse. I shall give myself a good talking to and remind myself to put on a blouse and tie a bow in my hair to serve Mr BM's supper. (Mind you, he might ask "Where is BM? What have you done with her?)!
