I was told recently by a friend of mine that visited Liverpool for the day, that it is really nice in parts. It will be rough in parts though like lots of cities. If you do decide to move there, check out the place before you move.
It looks like nowhere in the UK is a safe place to live these days .You need a flack jacket or a stab proof vest just to go into Tescos in some Cities.
It's gone right down the ratings in the last couple of years.
usual baloney from gully
Just in the year up to March 2022 .The total number of knife crimes committed by Children aged between
10-17 year olds in England and Wales was 3,490.
...And that was just the kids...
what a comment about visiting Tesco to make when partaking of Earl Grey tea, one slice of lemon, overlooking one's chateau's moat....
I have no idea if Liverpool is too dangerous to tale up residence...........I wouldn't live there.

Work in Liverpool yes, but live in the outskirts, Formby, the Wirral and possibly Southport and commute.

Live there! Not me.
I have been the victim of crime three times - nothing serious, thankfully - and every time I was on holiday in mainland Europe. I've got family living in various cities all over the UK and they all feel safe and are happy with their lot.
I live in a town not too far from Liverpool and I love Liverpool. It has fabulous theatres where I have seen many, many shows, fabulous restaurants - my favourite being Bella Italia. Great shops and a lovely area called Albert Dock with shops and many eating places. Albert Dock is often host to the massive cruise liners which are taller than houses and are a wonderful sight to behold.

The recent crimes being perpetrated there are truly horrific, but sadly I think this is the norm nowadays all over the country, especially knife crimes which seem to be on the up and up.
I haven't visited Liverpool for years. It was fine for a day trip (good art gallery etc.) and I often flew there from Limoges and I once spent several days on a Uni. course there
I wouldn't have wanted to live there even then and certainly not now.
Mind you - I certainly wouldn't go back to living on the edge of Bradford.
One of the problems is that insurance costs are phenomenal because of the level of crime.

Burley,...I agree with your post, but I note that you do not live in Liverpool.

Is Liverpool a dangerous city to live.? I was thinking of moving there soon.....that was the question.

Oh and Crosby Beach isn't too far either, a truly lovely beach with life size statues dotted along it. The Wirral too is a lovely area and of course I forgot about the art gallery !

Would you want to live in the city itself cleoval, or on the outskirts?
Why does the Mersey run through Liverpool?

If it flowed through any slower, it would be mugged.
My son lives there, I’d rather he didn’t but that’s his choice.
A vibrant city is attractive to those in their 20’s, he’ll grow out of it as he gets older.
The city centre is ok but the rest? No thanks.
Why does the Mersey run through Liverpool? ...asks DTC.
Look at a map - it doesn't.
There is always a lot of nonsense talked about things like this.
Statistically, the chances of being involved in a gun crime in Liverpool or anywhere else are negligible.
Lost of nice places in Liverpool as already observed. The thing to do, as you would do anywhere, is research the "better" areas more closely. Saying it's too dangerous to live in is daft.
Ich....statistics and personal feelings are often quite different and depend upon your experiences.
The question was asked:
"Is Liverpool a dangerous city to live"

And I would say, no more "dangerous" than anywhere else.
Some people like the place, others don't. But that is a different matter.
ginge, I love a pedant.
