Summers won't be quite the same - but I'm looking forward to seeing him on tour at Kettering Lighthouse in a couple of weeks time - should be a good evening.

Totally agree Dave. I saw him a couple of years ago, a very enjoyable evening full of funny anecdotes.
I don't understand cricket, I've tried, oh, how I've tried.

However, one thing I do appreciate is a darned fine commentator on any sport and from the little I've heard from him, he's one of the best.

A real gentleman & fabulous commentator.

Thank you very much, my dear old thing.
Here you are Albaqwerty, this might help :o)
THE RULES OF CRICKET.

You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that’s in the side that’s in goes out, and when he’s out he comes in and the next man goes in until he’s out.
When they are all out, the side that’s out comes in and the side that’s been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and are not out.
When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he’s out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called Umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in, are out.
When both sides have been in and all the men are out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game.
He himself said that he either drives people mad or they love him. I used to love him, but he did drive me mad in the last few years as his voice seemed to get more and more affected and he regularly lost the plot.

Didn't anyone tell him to tuck his shirt in ?

And you might play for 4 days or more and no team end up winning the game
Vulcan, that's most kind of you. xx

I seem to recall an ab'er has something similar on a tea-towel.
The only way I know is them that's in, want to stay in but those who are out want to get them who are in out so they can be in.

It's a confuddling game of the highest order.

Is Silly-mid-on a more dangerous place than silly-mid-off?

(I only know those from doing xwords lol)
as we're in CB, another commentator I like is Peter Alliss.
