Hi all! I am getting tired of Barmouth, Weston-Super-Mare and Rhyl. Where would you recommend to go for a day? Thanks Andy

My pleasure! Just kidding - Llandudno is still nice - have a look.

Thanks! I haven`t been to Landudno for a few years, so may take a ride up there. I live in Shropshire so not too far away.

Lots of nice beaches on the East Coast (Hemseby, Cromer, Gt Yarmouth).  I go to Cromer every NY's day - my grandad reckons the air in Cromer will heal anything!  Depenbds what you're looking for, but there are some nice quiet places up there and also noisy rowdier beaches too.

Unquestionably Brighton!

Or visit the Gower Peninsula; the beaches are fabulous, good food at Oxwich Bay Hotel, miles of empty sand

I would definitely recommend Skipton.  There is plenty to do there shopping, museums, Skipton Castle, country pubs, country walks, Bolton Abbey is very close by, Railways shows - I recently went this August bank holiday and I never found myself bored.
Brighton. An absolutely fantastic place!

Blackpool  real seaside town - full of "sh*t shops" you know the ones where you buy useless stuff all part of a holiday!  Great Fun Fair, plenty to do and if you know the right places, a brilliant night life!!

I'm with Pythia - you can't beat the Gower. Try Mumbles for the shops and restaurants, Caswell Bay for the beach, Rhossilli for the sunsets (and a shipwreck on the beach) and the Oxwich Bay Hotel is fabulous, we ALWAYS go for a meal there when we're in the area.
Also, not a seaside place, but Liverpool is a great day out (two cathedrals, lots of Beatles things, great shops, as is Chester.
It depends where you live.  If you live in Cornwall, you won't want to be going to Scarborough or Bridlington for the day. Scarborough is a great place but for me, a day visit is enough.
Sorry andizuki1982.  I didn't notice the Shropshire bit. Don't know how far away from Scarborough you are.  I live in Leeds so it is about 80 minutes for me.

Try the Northumberland coast for fantastic scenery, beautiful unspoilt beaches, where often times you'll be the only person on them. great fish and chips at Seahouses. alnwick castle/ bamburgh excellent days out.

if it wasn't for the fact that the weather is always cr@p it would easily be the best seaside place in the coutry.

West Wales!  Camarthen,Cardigan Bay,Tenby and if you like peace and quiet try Laugharne:--))
