I know the Russian initials for it's country is CCCP, but what do the letters CCCP stand for?

I don't speak Ruski but the letters are actually SSSR in the Cyrillic alphabet which look like CCCP in ours.

USSR is Union of Soviet Socialist Republics which is Союз Советских Социалистических Республик in Russian (be interesting to see if Answerbank handles Cyrillic!).

Russia was just one Country in the Union so it's not strictly the USSR, just part of (and the cause of) most of it.

Союз Советских Социалистических Республик - works fine! Probably the code settings. Actually the USSR is no more. Russia is now part of the Russian Federation.
