My friend wants me to go shopping with her to help her find a maxi dress, the thing is she is petite and I'm no Gok Wan to be able to advise her!
Can any of you help please? I mean, what style should she go for? Where is the best place to get one from?

We were planning on going there anyway but what I am asking is what style should she go for ie halterneck etc and what type of pattern but thanks for taking the time to answer anyway :-)
It all depends on whether she is fat/slim.

Does she have a big bosom and all that?
I'm only 5'3 and I saw some gorgeous ones in Accessorize (Monsoon) the other day.

She does have a rather large bust and is a size 14 dress size.
If that be the case then the dress would appear shorter on her than it would on the hanger...
im 5"1 if im lucky and i have 3 from new look and i wear flats with em and theyre prefect xx
Simple and no loud or OTT patterns may be best.
They say big busted girls should avoid halter necks.

I would go for a dress that covered her bust quite high up.

I see many girls wearing a vest underneath their low cut dresses and sometimes it spoils it.

You can get scoop necks with short sleeves, the petticoat staps and a boob tube top.

I saw a nice tribal patterned dress on a girl, it looked really lovely.

Thanks funnygirl and everyone else :-)
if shes shorter probably go for a bold print if she wants print, and prob go for one with straps if shes bigger up top and if shes got a really good strapless bra go for a baneau style.
you mean shes short?

petite really means small all over...
