Does anyone know if it is still possible to buy tights by post, as opposed to on-line?

Do you mean Silkies. They have a web site if you want to get the phone number to order some.
You will find a wide range at Formint Ltd. Freepost Bournemouth BH9 3BR at reasonable prices.
Do not buy from silkies, I had major trouble with them. They sent me things I had not ordered and when I returned them, they sent me bill after bill, eventually threatening me with court action. Every time they sent me a bill I wrote to them enclosing every previous letter and explaining the situation.

in the end I contacted Trading standards who sorted it out with me, and also told me that they had had a very large number of complaints about this company!

Do not let them get hold of your details!

Thanks for your help, I shall try Formint. I seem to remember Silkies from many years ago but never used them because they said they would send every two weeks, or something like that.

Thanks 1 inaMillion! Just what I needed to keep me warm this winter.
I bought my first tights by post from http://www.uktights.com
I printed out my basket , set them a cheque (plus postage) with the print out and covering letter. They sent my tights out within 5 days of me posting it.

So its a bit of a mixture
