Where can I buy decent towels that won't shrink over time. Mine seem to shrink about 3 inches in, where there is a differnt pattern to the towel. I do use a tumble dryer to finish them off after washing.

i dont know where you can buy them but have you tried washing them at a differnet temerature. mayb u r washing them 2 high, just a thought...
Towels should NEVER be tumble dried or have fabric softner added to the rinse. They loose their absorbancy. The best towels are Egyptian cotton. If you hold a towel up to the light, the LESS light you can see through them, the better they are.

Christy towels are always pretty good quality. Sometimes they have a 3 for 2 on them at Debenhams .
You must be washing your towels at the wrong temperature, I only buy cheap towels and they never shrink. I got my last lot from a UK site for a great price.
