The only Cookson adaptation i ever enjoyed was - surprisingly - The Gambling Man.

I recognized all of the places JJ, the river scenes were taken at the Staithes on the river Tyne, the street and houses shots also the tram,is taken in a local open air museum called Beamish which is a reflection of the North East in those times , I have friend who works there , it’s around 3 mile from me
