I may return the Amazon table i bought, i still have the boxes it came in, but its too heavy to take to a depot, do they collect, and if so, do they charge?

Whoosh! That’s a hard hit to take, ring Amazon again and tell them the item is not what it seemed and whether they’ll pay or not ,say you can’t afford to send it back to the USA , you just might get a sympathetic ear listening to you

Is it that hard to buy a table in the UK ? I have read about the general quality of workmanship but that's nothing new, & now you can't blame the evil EU.

no idea it came from USA, was shocked when i found the returns label indicating it had to be sent back there....

I found the listing, emmie - it does clearly state that it is supplied from the US. :(

It even warns you that manufacturer's warranty will not apply. Immediately above the 'add to basket' button on the right hand side, and under the 'buy now' button in the same panel it says 'dispatched from and sold by Amazon US'.

It also states the weight of the item 7.92 kg and the exact dimensions. There are some very poor reviews, too, 'junk' 'worth $20 at best' 'not as described' 'poorly made' ...

i am going to donate it to my charity people Bright Sparks, if they want it that is. I have other items they can have so its no big deal if they reject it.

i will be very very careful in future that's for sure. besides the table i want is solid wood and not from USA, nor is it flimsy or flat packed, i have learnt my lesson.

Sorry you've been so disappointed with the table but Amazon's customer service can't be faulted.
They gave me a full refund for a phone that bricked after 22 months, I was expecting a repair at best. I didn't even have to send it back.
I've had other full refunds and been told to keep the items.

its going to go to charity if they want it, if not it can stay till i get my new one. I got my 101 quid refund already, and don't have to send it back, which wasn't feasible.

emmie, in all fairness and having read the item page you were not entitled to a refund without sending it back. Amazon told you they would refund the cost of return so to give you a full refund and let you keep it is top class service, even if it did take 4 phone calls
