Me too Danny, I enjoyed Home Fires a lot, remember that?
Vaguely, Bobbi.
Question Author
It went as far as it could and I was disappointed there’d be no others made
Looking forward to it too.
I still remember World at War, had an impact on me as a kid.
^^^^^^I think I mean a family at war. Good acting and series.
Question Author
I loved that Sharon, I bought the whole series off Amazon
I too loved Family at War. Will watch this new series tonight.
This series sounds good, I loved Family At War. I used to watch it with my Dad.
Question Author
Not sure if I kept them all Maggie, I had a massive clearout and gave loads away,
Question Author
The Ashton family in Liverpool , great series
Bobbi, they've been showing Home Fires again last week on ITV 3. You can watch it here:

I really do hope that you've over-simplified the synopsis, Bobbisox, and that it's a lot grittier than Family At War and Home Fires. The fact that it's been given the 9pm slot gives me hope that its not just another love story set against the background of war. Read somewhere that the writer has a further six seasons up his sleeve, already.
Question Author
Yes Ken, I read the synopsis and it said some scenes may be upsetting
Thanks Brainiac, I’ll check that out
Agree with you Ken4155 about the grittiness. Gone off it slightly when you mentioned more series, hope it's not another glorified soap.

I wonder how long Sean Bean will last in this series? He often gets bumped off when it's least expected. :-)
Surprisingly I wasn't disappointed.
Question Author
We are keeping it till there’s nothing to worth watching Maydup x
To be totally honest i found it boring and laborious to watch. If it wasn't for the fact i have rarely seen Sean Bean in anything dire, i may not have lasted through the entire episode. I will watch next week but if it doesn't buck up, i'll be giving it the Spanish Archer.
Mmmm. I’ll watch it again, sometimes things improve after the first episode .
