There are male and female peppers. If you upend them and count the bumps, if they have four bumps it's female, if they have three they are male.
I never knew there were male and female peppers. Did you?

I read it in a magazine. Never thought of it before.
Male and female everything. Trees, flowers, etc how do you think pollination happens?

I know Zacs but normally you don't look at a pepper and think is this male or female, at least I don't!
Did you know that interlocking the upended bumps of the male and female together makes them ripen more quickly.

Chris it seemed so reasonable especially as I had a three bump and a four bump pepper!
Don't worry. I'll put your gullibility down to not being able to think straight with all that back pain ;-)

I hope that you can find some relief soon!

Thank you Chris.
Two peppers in my fridge.
One is sweating and the other is smiling!
What's going on?
If one is smoking a cigarette and the other one is saying selfish barsteward .......

Male and female cucumbers..... not exactly but some varieties have all female flowers I.e the ones that produce the fruit. You don't want male flowers as pollinated cucumbers are bitter and develop seeds.
Nope! Learn something new every day.
I had noticed the three and four bumps, but didn't think there was a reason.
Seems I was right! :o}
