Getting My Monitor To Not Turn Off.....

My LG monitor which I have had for about 6 months, goes off about twice a day, or more as an energy saver.
I have gone to settings, and ticked the boxes where it says 'never turn off', but it still does.

My TV has the same, but that has a stay on/off facility, which works ok.

Is there anyway I can override it? Thanks.

Its not necessarily the monitor but rather the computers power plan. Right click on your desktop and go to display settings and rummage about till you find the right setting.

Thanks crapa,
Had a look around, clicked a couple of things, but dont think its the computer as it never did it with the old monitor, but wont know yet until it stays on or off.
Certainly inside Control Panel > Power Options you can see what power settings you are using - Balanced, High Performance or Power Saving. One of them will have a marker showing it's the one you've chosen. Click on Change Plan settings next to it and you can see and alter the "Turn Off the Display" time. Set it to "Never".

Thanks bhg,

I did have a look at what you wrote, but it was what I more or less had done already, and all are Set to "Never".

I timed it today, and it went off after 7 hours.

Thanks anyway.
7 hours is 420 minutes.Instead of "never" you could try setting it to, say, 1000 minutes and see if that has any effect.

Ta bhg,

I will give that a try, but putting never, I would have thought that ok. Will let you know. Thanks.
I have "never" with an LG monitor (a lot older than yours) and that works. I think we're into grasping at straws but it's worth a try. Even changing it for a day or two and then going back to "never" might just refresh something. Good luck.

I found the minutes, and set it to 1,200 last night, so will see what happens soon, as turned on d/top at 9am ish.
Question Author
bhg,
It turned off approx after 8 hours, so going to increase the minutes to 1,600, see what happens.
Did you get a manual with your monitor Rt? Mine came with a CD. If you did there might be something in there about it.

Fingers crossed bhg, it didnt go off after 9 hours yesterday, so will see what happens from now till tomorrow :-)
Ah! we're getting there then. If only we understood why. Still, it's the result that matters.
