M&S won't listen to customers .......

In an earlier thread I told you that M&S (in their wisdom!) have now decided there are no customers size 18 who are tall.

They have discontinued making a Long length Per Una jeans but only in sizes 18 and 20, they still do Long in sizes below 18. Last week I thought I would try again! I bought the New In range per una Roma jeans (which fit me so well)to try the regular length as on the reviews customers were saying the lengths seem to be getting longer. The jeans were ok with flat shoes but no good with heeled boots, too short. I decided to put a really glowing review on the website item saying what a brilliant fit they were, but so disappointed they suddenly had stopped making the longer length only in size 18 and 20. Despite the fact that some customers put awful website reviews on various M&S products saying "poor quality, bad fit etc etc" and they are accepted, M&S have sent me an email saying my review has been rejected. I have emailed Head Office with no result, discussed this matter in store to very surprised sales assistants (who said the long length always sold out first) and submitted my two reviews. WHY won't they listen to their customers? I don't understand it, I feel like writing to the National press. They grumble that sales are going down etc etc but I know one of the reasons! Very frustrated as I love these jeans and mine are wearing out ............ I would have bought another 3 pairs if only they would cater for me!

Ann - call 020 8718 4313 for M&S's corporate press office for fashion and style and ask for Belinda Earl's e-mail - if they are not forthcoming, sned her a letter but register it,or even better Fedex it into her under "Personal attention of" as it has to be signed for by her secretary....may payout in some M and S vouchers at the very least, I would think.
Belinda Earl is the new "Style Director" that has replaced Katie Bostock, who was pushed out when the figures were revealed - she was pizzed that she never got the top job that Marc Bolland took
As I said on your other thread about it they can't be selling that well (even if one shop assistant says so) or they would continue selling them. Shops don't have a habit of discontinueing best sellers.

I believe I also suggested numerous other shops you could get long lengths jeans in a size 18 from.
what about to their male clientele dressing in Una....lol....

Thanks DT - is this right? I will certainly try this!
Evian - yes I remember and thanks so much for your previous suggestions, I have actually been around the shops today trying jeans on from other retailers but they are scarce in 32/33" leg! Most are 31" and none match the fit of the Per Una jeans, they were just perfect for me!
Ann. I know I'm short but if you decide to picket M&S can I come please? I have chained myself to library doors and picketed two shops in Kettering...on my own but it worked.
I do miss picketing. I'll wear purple and I have a stick.
Well I also have a hatchet, a flame thrower, an electric saw and some snow chains.
You will find that your review has been rejected, not because it is critical but because there might be a naughty word in it. They did it to me when I used the word crotch!!!

Really silly that you can't get long in larger sizes. It would make more sense to have long in larger sizes than in the very small sizes surely. A lot of taller people are bigger than little people All to do with proportion.

I wear Per Una jeans - they are the only ones that fit me well and don't look like jodphurs (sp) on me. I am tall too Ann, although I have shrunk with age. Per Una jeans size 16 fit me well.
If their new ranges are ANYTHING like their men's "fashion" buyings , then ......, but as its M&S, I'm not surprised, as they haven't given a fig for the wishes of its customers for years.
I wear Per Una Roma jeans. Other Per Una jeans don't fit me properly.
yep, just google, Belinda Earl, Ann - she has led the revitalisation of Jaeger.....
Actually, their clothes at the moment are pretty dire. There is nothing that I like and the nice dresses they had last year (about knee length) for the winter, that I wear with leggings and poots are nowhere to be seen!!

And everything has gone up in price!!
Poots?
M & S jeans don't fit me at all. The bum is always far too big!

//I do miss picketing. I'll wear purple and I have a stick// Brilliant gness!
I too "wear purple" a lot, cos I'm old and its my favourite colour!
While I'm in my Mrs Angry mood I would say I went into Matalan today and bought a cardigan. While waiting to pay I stood in the long queue - there were 6 in front of me and about the same number behind. There was one poor girl serving on her own. They were playing deafening rap music, OH couldn't stand the noise and scarpered back to read his paper in the car. The checkout girl put out a desperate tannoy for "so and so please report to the tills please" and TWO girls turned up to help ........ and joined with another one folding clothes at a spare checkout and all started chatting and laughing. We were fuming in the queue, but someone shouted "can you please stop chatting and serve us " but we still had to wait as they took not a blind bit of notice! Grrr!
Tenrec, have you tried per una Roma fit. I have a problem with most jeans, too big on the bum and thighs (hence jodhpurs!!). Per Roma fit me OK, but a bit tight on waist, but I put up with that and breathe in permanently.
I once asked the manager in Matalan if the music could be turned down. He refused. I filled a trolley with as much fiddly stuff as I could, wheeled it to the checkout, put my hand to my brow, wailed....The music The Music.... and left them with the full trolley.

Lottie - talking of "poots" the styles I saw this afternoon were just dreadful, where do they get these designers from? :)
I love modern clothes, love tunics and leggins and boots (not boots) for the winter. I think M&S have gone all frumpy this season - and as for M&S classic range - well - even my mother in her 80's would wear stuff like that.
