Easter Sunday typically falls on a different date each year. Easter is always the first Sunday after or on the first full moon, after the Spring (vernal) Equinox in the Northern hemisphere and the Autumnal Equinox in the Southern hemisphere.
So, go to your calendar, and find the first day of spring - then find the first full moon immediately following that. And Easter will be the first Sunday after (or on) that first full moon.
Lol, i was just gonna answer "something to do with the moon"!!!
and i did not know Mothers Day was based on Easter too. I always just thought it was the 3rd Sunday in March. It is in April this year which seems really strange!
I was going to say the Minister For Easter picked the day each year. There must be a Minister for Easter, surely?

Easter is stupidly late this year. We're finding it hard to plan a skiing week with my pals' kids, because they break up so late, and the snow could be dodgy.

Frankly, I think it's a bit much when the Resurrection of Our Lord and Saviour fails to take account of the skiing conditions.

If Our Lord was omniscient, He would have foreseen the advent of skiing.

I think it was inconsiderate.
..and you have to factor in the Royal Wedding too, a huge amount of people are going to be on their hols for the week between Easter Monday and the RW which is another BH weekend.
