I bought some rolls of double sided sticky stuff a couple of years ago, you stick up the tape on suitable surfaces (like the stair wall) and press the cards onto it.
My Gran gets a long piece of string and hangs them on it. Looks quite good :)
You can get some gold string with little gold pegs - could tie them to the bannister.
I sellotape some of mine to the fireplace, or pin 'em to the curtains

I use string and pegs too. You can get posh ones or poundshop ones and allsorts in between and can be reused each year. This type of thing

I have a string which can be attached to whatever you like with a pin or blue tack, and little pegs to attach the cards, works fine for me!....
that's what 4get doesn't want to do, though, welsh....
^^ pegs are useful for hanging cards vertically round door frames for example
I got these last year .They sell them in Wilkies .

This is nice too

Bit dear but you can use it again and again .....and again :)
We have something like the gold tree from next... the cards always fall out it though.
Oh! sorry boxtops, maybe not a good idea then!...........lol.......
One problem, shaney (though I like the tree) - we don't have any internal doors :-)
maybe buy one of those card holders then, there are some lovely ones out there, my problem is that if you have a few left, where do you put them?........

thought of string and pegs but dont have anywhere to stick them, do not want to use a pin or any sticky things.
Could you hang them from a door that you don't shut and stick the pins/blue tack on the very top edge of the door (no one will see any marks there)?
have seen some lovely freestanding ones 4get, they have rings to hold the cards, but won't hold many!.........maybe look at them...depending on how many cards you have, this may be the answer, you can use them year after year!...........

oooh just found this, do you think its ok on normal doors, hope it doesnt scratch the top

I dont keep any doors open. If I could find a tall one could have it standing on small window
I use some gold or silver ribbon - the narrow type that you wrap presents with - and fasten it round the door from top to bottom ie under the door and back up to the top and fasten it on top of the door with a large drawing pin. This can't be seen a its too high up to be noticed. I then use a small stapler and staple the backs of the cards to the ribbon. This way they can still be opened and read. I then attach a few matching/contrasting sticky bows to the ribbon that is on the other side of the door for a bit of fun. Hope this make sense. It is quite effective and holds a good number of cards. There are no marks or holes left anywhere except on the thin strip at the top of your doors which you will never normally see - unless your name is Peter Crouch! Leaves all your other surfaces card free.
