I've made 14 ones the same as rocky's link, used A4 paper, turned out fab, got them to decorate my shop window and to hang from ceiling. Very effective and so easy to make. Have ended up showing a lot of customers how to make them.
Google Cornwall crafty stamper tutorials: Christmas Star, (sorry no idea how do a link). I used six sheets of paper, looks like a snowflake. Used Sellotape to join the middle and staples for the rest.
I hope Ric.ror found some of the suggestions useful.
