Leave them out of the freezer and they will thaw. And yes, they would make a meal, but you could make an omelette with them to stop them looking lonely.
Take them out of the freezer and leave them to thaw, or pop them into the fridge for several hours. Or soak in tepid/hot water.

No reason why they shouldn't constitute a meal as described IMO, but pots better sauteed or chipped possibly.
prawn curry yummers!
don't soak in tepid or hot water - you;re asking for a nasty stomach

you can put them in cold water

i have jacket potato with prawns and salad quite often
Or add to fried rice, onion and egg

It needs to be good plain food. None of your foreign muck, berniecuddles ;-)
I'd guess they thaw in 5 or 6 hours?

Much quicker than that Sandy. Spread them out on plate and they will be ready in less than an hour I would guess (depending on room temperature)
i take them out the night before and leave in the fridge to defrost overnight, they are always defrosted by the morning, quick wash and good to go
Never had that problem mcfluff, but perhaps I was just lucky, so will heed your warning.
wow sorry i spoke
It won't take that long. Run them under the cold tap for a few minutes and then let them rest in a bowl of cold water. rinse again before using them. I can't think of prawns ever taking more than half an hour to resurrect themselves.
room temperature then do a nice stir fry.. red, yellow pepper, shallots, and rice

the ;-) symbol meant I was making a joke.
sandy i was joking too lol☺☺☺
I run cold water over them which defrosts them quite quickly. The only thing I can think of that uses potatoes and veg with them is a fish pie which I make with cod and prawns.
If I want something quick and summery, I make an open prawn sandwich. Just get a slice of bread, put salad of any type covering the bread, pile the prawns on top and finish off with prawn cocktail sauce or any dressing of your choice. Eat with a knife and fork!
Summery?...prawns,avocado and bacon...and homemade Mayo. Or is that defined as 'foreign muck'...?

That sounds great, Pastafreak. Unfortunately, it's not my palate we're trying to please here. M&S skinless and boneless salmon was regularly on the menu until a small piece of bone was discovered. The plain prawns might do for a while.
Oh dear. That sounds like my daughter when she was about 8.....picking through fish ...looking for bones-and then rejecting it all.
