Im in the need of some help. I am in paramedic school and we are in the pharmacology section. We just went over the Autonomic nervous system and its drugs and i have a test Monday, but its not all making sense. I understand how sympathomimetics, sympatholytics work (alpha & beta agonist/antagonist). But im seeing grey on the ganglion, postsynaptic, and presynaptic receptor stuff. I understand how adrenergic neurotransmitters alpha=NE and beta=EPI work, but i just cant see clearly when it gets into the synapse area and its very stressful. Im hoping someone can say the right thing and explain so all of this can click into place. thanks

I'm afraid the stuff I learnt is almost certainly out of date but you could try this link
