morning, Wednesday midweek already, the time certainly flies by. I hope that you are all in good health, and that your day is a pleasant one. Do you have any plans for today. I have nothing in the calendar so will catch up on some chores, how exciting.......

Today's forecast for the capital is a lowly 13c, its getting colder and now wet as it's raining, which was predicted.

Morning early birders and emmie.
Eye test for me today and an indulgence at M&S foodhall. Too early for Christmas edibles but maybe a bottle of something to hide away

morning Barry
early for you .
sounds nice - always good to find something for Christmas.
Question Author
i tried booking out the following week 29th December but the slots aren't released yet. So will wait nearer the time. Nothing like being prepared....
I've got my deliveries booked right up to Christmas but like you I'm waiting for Tesco to release the one before January. We get through gallons of milk and yoghurts and it's a Godsend getting the deliveries
Question Author
i have no idea what i would do if they didn't deliver, as i can't manage shopping any longer. Can't get the trolly up the stairs for one thing.
You'd probably have to rely on friends or a home help, emmie
Question Author
i wouldn't like to do that Barry, relying on others isn't in my nature.
Question Author
i do have a wrangle with the delivery drivers sometimes as they insist that they can only bring shopping up one floor. I am on the second floor, and tell them i have severe arthritis so can't come down to them.
Its usually ok after that
Morning all. I can't believe it's midweek already. OH and I still haven't decided what we're doing this Saturday but little one has a sleepover on Saturday and we were going to go out somewhere. What to do?

see a show, or have dinner out. You could Even stay in and get a takeaway, make a lazy day, night of it.
I wouldn't send the little one for a sleepover if we were just stopping in and having a takeaway. If he's going to N&Gs we intend to make the most of it.

We were thinking of venturing up to the Christmas Market and having a mulled wine or two.

Or we might just stay local and visit a few of the inimitable real ale pubs within walking distance of home. It's all weather permitting of course.
I hope the delivery drivers are kind and thoughtful, Emmie.

When we were having our carpets laid the two chaps watched me struggle to drag an extra deep superking mattress from the spare room into the master bedroom when I was in agonising pain with plantar fasciitis.
Question Author
mostly the drivers don't quibble, they bring it into the kitchen where i can sort it.

why didn't they give you a hand....lazy gits.
Question Author
Christmas market sounds good, providing it's not raining. I love mulled wine. We had some last Christmas at my Niece's house.
Because I think they wanted £35 extra to "move furniture" although OH had spoken to someone the day before and they said if it's only one mattress then no problem they'll move it. On the day the two chaps refused.

To be fair though they did move it back into the spare room without being asked as it was evident I was in pain.
Question Author
i know what you mean, i bought a very large wine cabinet, which has cupboard space for dishes and stuff. It was delivered ok, but they refused to take it out of the box, so i was left to do it. What a performance.
Good moaning everyone
Question Author
morning 1ozzy
Question Author
not moaning, we are merely making a statement that delivery men don't always help when it's needed.
