Yesterday I went out onto our decking and got a shock to see a pidgeon sat on the floor. Never seen one before in my life there. Had to go to urgent app so left it there. Came back hours later and it was still there!
Decided it must be injured, but then it jumped up onto the table! Then the chair. 24 hours later and it’s still here! Hasn’t eaten or drank and I honestly don’t know why or what it’s doing. It just keeps walking up and down. Any ideas??

My grandmother was partial to pigeon pie but that was 50 years ago.

Perhaps it's been frightened by a cat. Did you notice if it had a ring / rings on it legs? If so, probably a homing pigeon that's got lost! Have you fed it Smow?
If you can see if it has a ring would be good. Feed and water and see what happens. Could be resting and getting it’s bearings if homing or racing pigeon. Call RSPCA
Has it got a 'ring' on its leg ? If it has then it is a 'Racing Pidgeon' . If it does , the ring will have a number . This number will identify it ! The Police or the Racing Pigeon Association will be able to find the owner from the number ! So phone them !
Fledgling pigeons look like adult pigeons. Could it be a youngster that is unable to fly?

No ring on it’s leg - it’s let me get close enough to look

I’ve put down some cereal in a bowl - don’t know what else to do
Give it some water, Smow
Have you got a bit of bread to break up? It obviously feels safe/ at home there..Call RSPCA for advice..

I’ve put a bowl of water and a bowl of cereal down. Am sitting withing 3 feet of it but if I move any closer he gets jumpy.
Hope you haven't any cats around the area. It needs protecting. Call RSPB or local animal/ bird sanctuary, Smow.

Bizarrely my cat died last week. How odd is that.
Not very, actually.
It's probably been waiting for the chance to get to know you.
My initial suspicion would be that it is in fact unwell, they look normal except for all reactions. Once its reserves are low enough and or whatever ails it has taken over they often simply abruptly, or perhaps after a short period of near paralysis, die.
Have had similar experiences with birds - every few weeks one will crash into one of our windows at speed and, if they survive, are stunned for hours and sometimes wander roudn aimlessly for a day or two.
Possibly been eating plastic like so many other animals on this planet.
Could it have flown into a window and stunned itself? It may just recover in time.
