can someone explain what is  heart bypass surgery in simple terms and how can you have double or triple?

The artery is so clogged up with fatty deposits that it is in danger of being blocked completely.  So they get an extra bit of tube - usually by taking it out of the leg - and stitch it in next to the heart, so that the blood has an alternative path to go past where the blockage is.  A double (or triple) bypass is simply where they do two (or three) of the same thing, because it is clogged up in more than one place.
