Anyone else watching this?

It's a fantastic series, I don't understand why it's on during the day though. Why not put this quality drama on in the evening instead of I'm a Celebrity with Talent on Ice and other such nonsense?

>>>I don't understand why it's on during the day though

Probably because the BBC Trust instructed the BBC (back in 2010) to improve daytime TV by providing high-quality original programming instead of interminable repeats of programmes like Cash in the Attic. Expect to see more original dramas being transmitted on daytime TV in the future.

That's a fair point, Chris.

Be nice if the Beeb could see their way to improve prime time telly too...
...and the "nonsense" you seem to dislike gets excellent viewing figures....so, you may be in a minority...

I do understand that a lot of people like and/or watch reality TV, gingejbee and wouldn't want it to be removed completely. I'd just like a bit of balance in the telly schedule.
I agree 2sp, I cannot stand and do not watch any of those 'celebrity, ice, voice,BGT etc'

Sibs, I wonder how many folk watch these things because there is naff all else on? A case of if you can't beat them, join them?

There was some great afternoon drama on the BBC last year - first series of Father Brown; WPC 56; a police drama with a real retired police inspector; The Blandings which was on Sunday teatimes.
More, please
LOl...what a coincidence this thread appears to be, as i heard about Father Brown from our cleaning lady this afternoon.
Apparently the daughter said to her mother:
"Why is it that blokes always want fellatio on the first night?"

and her mother replied:

"Don't bother with all that singing, just give him a blow job."
BBC 4 and 2, Channel 4 and Channel 5 all have excellent factual programming.
There's more than two channels to choose from you know.

The BBC have their fair share of reality telly. All the celebrity learning new stuff type of thing.

And I'm talking about all the channels needing to improve their range of shows.

Oh, and I feel that we should expect better from the BBC as we pay for it.
Is that not 'Mrs Brown's Boys' Sqad ??
Mamy....ahh! yes.....I think that you are correct...thanks.
I somehow thought it unlikely G K Chesterton would have woven such into a storyline.
Well done, Mamy, I did wonder

I thought I'd maybe missed a scene there, sqad!
The original Father Brown books are a nice read - I know this series is new writing and sounds worth a look.
2sp.......As she was telling me the story, she bent down to dust the chair legs and the accuracy of the topic eluded me as the top of her thighs came into view..............;-)

You are a sauce-pot, sqad!
