Me and my girlfriend were told today at the five month scan that our baby is 60% a girl, even though we wanted a boy?

Apart from the very obvious, what would you draw from this?

But at the end of the day, I'm still very excited about having a little girl. We're so lucky really as there are good people out there who would kill for a baby.

I would draw from this the fact that a) they can't tell because the pic wasn't entirely clear and b) they have not identified anything wrong with your baby. Many congratulations and all the best for the coming months.

(Yes I would kill for a child, but it will never happen for me). All the best.

Awww, I'm sorry, Barmaid. :-( And thanks for your kind message. :-) xx
So is the other 40% a boy? Just kidding.

They told my brother and his wife their second baby was a boy. It was a pleasant surprise when she gave birth to a girl (so they had one of each). They aren't always right but be happy with whatever the sex.
I would say they really weren't sure. It's easier to tell if it's a boy....but the position the baby is lying in can make a difference. They could tell me what my youngest was until someone dropped something and he jumped...

Congrats...

Why do you want a boy? Boys smell :-)
*couldn't tell me

ummmm - I want a boy because my girlfriend already as a girl, and it would be nice for her to have one of each.
Nothing wrong with having a preference. I wanted a boy with my youngest because my middle child was a boy. I thought they could be good friends....how wrong I was :-(
im surprised that anyone doing the scan gave you that information.
really anne? They always tell you here (berkshire) if you wan tto know
You can be told if you ask, anne - some people really want to know.
I hope whatever the sex is that the baby is healthy x
Congratulations!
i know they now tell parents the sex of babies at scans. but surely they would want to be 100% sure, before giving out the information.
Have to change your user name! ;-)
I wouldn't want to know - our neice was told it was a boy and did out the nursery in blue, only for a girl to pop out.
at my first her words to me were "I think its a girl, though I cant be sure"

it turned out to be a girl
TBH I'm surprised they gave those odds as well.
In Buckinhamshire they won't tell you the sex of the baby, but here in Hereford they do tell you. On my twins, which were the only children I have had here, I asked to know but only if they could be sure on both of them.

Congratulations.
They NEVER say they're 100% sure, in case you sue them. When I had my first, they said, "well, there's the scrotum. I'm 80% sure it's a boy." Unusual in a girl, I think?
