"The Irons" ???

As in ... rhyming slang for homosexuals ?

Is that their nickname ?
The phrase "Up the Irons" - most apropos for talking about homosexual acts.
No, hang on ... their nickname is The Hammers, yes ?
I think thats a 'Brighton thing'
LOL

Iron = "Iron Hoof" = Poof = ... somehow related to West Ham.

We need to know more !
West Ham were originally Thames Ironworks (I think), thus the Irons.
anyway JJ as Pompey me (and I can speak for Bobjugs) are not talking to you. The Seagull at work has gloated by wearing his tie at work since Monday. He doesnt even have to talk; he just walks in wearing his tie.
"Up the 'ammers I was tayght as a little'un.

I've got one eye on TV the other on AB.

jem
Aah, okay.

And Thames Ironworks was ... a gay club, or something ?

When West Ham entered the football league they played at the 'Old Iron Works'. Hence the Irons. Nothing to do with Homosexual or Gay. Yes their nickname is the Hammers, but some people still call them the Irons.
'we're forever blowing bubbles'....

JJ. You've lived in Brighton too long.
Aww, I'm sorry, Booldawg.

I didn't go to the game or anything. I was away skiing.

Tha FA Cup is still a bit of a sore point for us ("... and Smith must score!" and all that)
Its a bit like the story behind Hearts.

they entered the Scottish League as Hearts of Midlothian; originally they were the prison side.
well it has just gone 1 a piece
they're not winning any more
Oh dear 1-1
"You've lived in Brighton too long."

That sentence makes no sense, micmak.

If you've ever lived here, you'd never live anywhere else.
Will it be a West Ham v Arsenal final ?
and now down to 10
