Have just been looking Lottie, thanks.

In my research, between proper work you understand, I have so far narrowed my choices down to:
Byfords at Holt
the Crown at Southwold
The Lifeboat Inn at Thornham

I do like to be beside the seaside.....

The places Lottie posted about are only 30 mins max from the sea.

I didn't know Byfords did accommodation. Used to go there for coffee and cakes quite often.

Had a look and it looks OK, but would prefer Thornham and the Lifeboat Inn.

I know - I've been to Holt, but I have a soft spot for it and it's not far to go to the coast.

Must admit Lottie - the Lifeboat is my number one choice so far. It does look very comfortable and not too posh. I don't 'do' posh.... And this is for my birthday, so I want to be relaxed and not feel obliged to be on best behaviour.

(I just won't mention to my companion that I've already been there with 'Clive').

Hi Red. I would rather go to the places I mentioned than Holt!! Holt's for old rich people!! ;o)

Full of ladies wearing beige with kangol hats and barbour wax jackets!! To be fair Holt is only about 3 miles from the sea surely?

Byfords is posh, full of the same sort of people as I have just mentioned!

Holt is just one posh graveyard. However, The Feathers is nice and down to earth and the food is great value for money.

I meet Mr LL there sometimes after he has finished work (near Cromer) and we have a

I went to Holt with my daughter Charlie Wobbles, Tara-ra-bum-ti-eh, Gracie Fields and Ferret - for a girlie week. It was very nice. A lovely Greek bar-cum-bistro and nice shops & deli.
