is punctuation?

Honestly, I cannot make out what people are saying sometimes, such is their lack of the aforementioned. I'm not being pedantic - but I really struggle to discern what people are saying.

I bet I know who'll be the first to answer this ! ;-)

It drives me nuts. You don't have to use the correct punctuation....just a comma here and there so we know when to breath.

Precisely. But with the absence of commas and full stops, it's very difficult to understand when two sentences merge into one.

It's helpful, stuff posted on here (or anywhere) has to make sense to the people reading it. We all make mistakes (I know I do) but some posts go on and on and you don't know where one sentence finishes and the next one starts. Writing in capitals (or in the wrong box) is not helpful either.

lol - I'm with you two. Even on text messages I 'speak' correctly. And am mortified if I spell something wrong! (how ironic I started my answer with 'lol'!) ooops!!!

i agree punctuation makes it much easier to read peoples posts sometimes you have to read them over and over to understand what is being said

"lol" is merely an abbreviation, and an instantly recognisable one at that. But starting a sentence in the middle of a sentence, without a capital letter, makes for difficult reading. Sometimes it can appear to say something completely difficult from what the author is trying to convey.
