My boyfriend is a chef and has been for about 11 years now. In the past few years he has gotten involved in the hotel restaurant business. We are now living in Hong Kong where he is cooking at a very nice 5-star hotel. The downside is that he is working 6 day work weeks 14 hours a day and he is getting very burnt out. He has expressed interest in getting involved in a different food-related career that would be less draining and time consuming. He has mentioned everything from food writing to private cooking to agricultural research. My question is this: are there any ex-chefs out there that have found different food related careers that they have found fulfilling?

Several folksI know have have gone into teaching, private coaching, or working for food companies developing products, as well as working in corporate kitchens for training or conference companies.
