Ken Barlow attempted suicide by taking an overdose. Stopped by Bet Lynch. Not sure of the year, but it was Christmas.

I remember now that Don Brennans attempt was successful. I think he drove into the canal.

No Don drove his car into the wall at the end of the street just around the same point where Peter is now planning on opening a new bar, and his car exploded.
