The Phantom. Played by David Niven in the Original film and by Christopher Plummer in the Return of the Pink Panther. There were two non Pink Panther Sequels prior to Return of the Pink Panther one was A Shot in the Dark, with Peter Sellars in the role of Inspector Clouseau and the next was Inspector Closeau where Alan Arkin played the title role.
