Speling (sp)

What is the point of (sp) in brackets ? What it says is I am too bloody lazy to look up the correct speling (sp) of this word so have gone through the inordinate (sp) keyboard contorsions (sp) of shift-( s p shift-) just to annoy you.

Bone idleness. If you don't know how to spel a word, don't use it, or alternativly (sp) use another that you can spel and which means the same (sinonim (sp))

I find I'm nowhere near as annoyed by sp's as I am by people who find this none important issue a problem.

What a bizarre post -sorry bodylice but it is.O how I wish thats was the only thing that concerned me (- how I wish for those halcyon days).

In saying that-literally cant wait for Knobby to see this post -I just love his deliberate spelling mistakes -they make me PMSL -loving the 'mon dew' and always love the 'kin hell' .

O wish we had a Knobby dictionary -it makes sense -lol

knobby's speling mistakes are NOT deliberate, he really really is as thick as pig droppings.

(sp) is usually used when referring to quotes, so that the original spelling mistake is left in ~ and the person writing the quote isn't blamed for poor spelling.

In any case this site isn't here for grammatical/typing errors to be pointed out.

I make lots of typos, but thats coz i type farst, like.

I I would say that the majority of his (sp'S) are deliberate and very funny.
Anyhow we all have the odd word we have to think about and mine is definitely definately -see how I did manage it when I was actually thinking about it -lol

Im not bothered at all though cos I get the gist of peoples posts and I have no doubt some of mine have been the type you just dont want to read the morning after -lol

Wrong Pippa, sorry, what you are referring to is (sick) in brackets. It comes from the Latin for ' so , thus ' (indeed IS the Latin for ' so, thus '). Alternative spelings (sp?) are sic and thus.

Oh bodylice - they have all got the knives out for you now! But I agree with you - if you know you've spelled it wrong, sort it out! I find it rather disappointing that the general level of spelling is so poor, but if you think it's bad on this site, you should have a look at some other q&a sites more frequented by our western cousins - blimey o'riley is all I can say. Some of the questions are so badly spelt you can't understand what they're asking.
