This fourth and final week of the reign of King Grenmus the Great was again one when the points were difficult to pick up. I can now reveal the chosen Link Words of Grenmus were:

In SIDE(R)
SIGN Out
Run ABOUT
HAND Over

As with previous weeks, three of the four links fell quickly, but the last one held on to the bitter end! And what a tight finish at the tape!

Well, the very early risers of the Shrubbery Squad pulled in the early points once again! The first to strike gold was forward giving us the RUNABOUT (motorbility car) followed closely behind by sarumite making headway on the INSIDE (meal sent up). These were tracked within one minute by ulysses100 with a retake on RUNABOUT and a brand-new HANDOVER (pass the baton) to pick up FOUR POINTS.
This makes ulysses100 HOT SHOT OF THE WEEK!
*** CHEERS ALL ROUND ***

Within the two-minute window came Aquagility to pick up two points for another bite at INSIDE ~ a rare event indeed! Well done, A! Double Hits were also registered by Meadow Lane EXCELLENT! However, it wasnt until Entrant #38 arrived very late in the afternoon in the form of Joanna Ont-ice to SIGN OUT (registration) and claim the last points.

There were lots of Zero Scores again (including jan1956) ~ but had she done enough to hold off the challenge as others closed the gap?

The Final League Table for October is:

SIX POINTS: jan1956 & sarumite
FIVE POINTS: jim & FoxLee
FOUR POINTS: freebi 2 & ulysses100
THREE POINTS: burgess3334, Dinkypuzzled, forward, miss meg & paulineward

In cases like this (both on 6), we look at their highest weekly score (both scored 2 at best) and who was first to reach 6 (thats jan!)

I am therefore proud to announce Queen Jan the First and Foremost as the new Sovereign of the Shrubbery!
Let Bells Chime! Trumpets Sound and People Sing!

There will be much to do behind the scenes before next weekend. Anyone who can pass my e-mail address on to Jan ~ Please do so!

My sincere thanks to the outgoing King Grenmus the Great.

Until we meet again, this is crofter signing off for another week.

See you next week: Same time Same place Different setter!

Until then: HAPPY LINKING!

:o)
well done S please feel free to take the crown, as I have some early starts on saturday over the next few weeks so it will be difficult for me. I look forward to you challanges
I will try to win in November, bu as I shall be late putting on

Sorry..forgot to say thanks again to Crofter...and well done Grenmus for a good months guessing..although I was rubbish!!
pauline can you pass crofters email to my hotmail account

Oh no! Logged on to look at my results as I do after tea every Sunday and then realised I hadn't posted!! I blame jet lag!

Anyway, thanks Crofter & Grenmus, well done jan and sarumite
Congratulations to Jan and Sarumite and all the high flyers.
We note that Ulysses is still somewhat of a bridesmaid but getting closer to the altar while we are still left sweeping up the confetti.
We don't really know who will be setting the links next week whether it be Jan or Sarumite, but whomever PLEASE get on to our wavelength. We could start a confetti factory.
Will do Jan!!
Postscript
One again our thanks to Crofter and his (t)rusty abacus. To His Majesty King Grenmus - thanks for a very enteraining month. You sure had us baffled.
Hoorah !!! Another honourable mention, but this time as Hot Shot. The only link that seemed really obvious to me was "hand over", as that is what King Grenmus was about to do ! As Ont.Ice says, I seem to be forever a bridesmaid...one day I'll catch that bouquet !
Congratulations to both sarumite and Jan..yet another close run competition. I look forward to next month's links.
Again many thanks to crofter for his arithmetical skills and analysis.
Well done Jan and Sarumite. What happens in the shrubbery now if Sarumite is chosing the words? Pauline we will be very busy on a Friday night!!
Thanks Crofter and Grenmus for last 4 weeks, and as most of Saturday Car boots have finished will probably be around a bit earlier!!!

Sorry I'm late with my congratulations, I've just got back from Anfield!!

Many congrats to Queen Jan the First and Foremost.

I happily hand over my sovereignty to you. Hard lines sarurmite on such a close second.

Thanks crofer for all your help over the month and I hope you have as much fun, Queen Jan, doing the links as I did.

I look forward to pitting my wits against you next month.

Grenmus

My Husband supports liverpool but son is a Gooner
yes i know where did we go wrong?
I asked if they wanted their blood pressure taken near the end
neither were keen!
Ahum! Crofter did you forget someone?? I come in within the 2 minute rule with RUN ABOUT after forward and you forgot me :-((((

I know it's not going to make any difference to the scoring but it's just nice to get a mention. :-)

Well done Queen Jan and sarumite. Thanks to grenmus for the links an crofter for the scoring, even if he did forget me. :-)
Wow! only just logged on .. and seen the scores, I'm not used to being so close to the top and it may possibly prejudice my membership of the Freefall Club ... sorry Ont-ice!!
Well done jan .. with crofter's assistance I'm sure you'll be able to post the link words.
Thanks Grenmus and crofter for an interesting month.
Cheers (S)
