This second week of the reign of King Cliff has gone perfectly and I trust there will be no hiccups. I can now reveal the chosen Link Words of cliffyg and they are:
Grand MASTER
National LOTTERY
Horse CHESTNUT
HUMAN Race

In summary, it would appear that paulineward has created a new game (at which she is "Ace"). She predicts the words TO BE CHOSEN for linking ~ making three out of four hits! Knowing her as we do, she'd be waiting for others to catch up! Neither of these plans is tenable and should be abandoned forthwith!

I was astounded to spot the several cryptic messages left by King Cliff! Does he think he's that safe? I spotted some but not all! Well, he may have fooled me but not the Marmite Patrol.

Well, he may have fooled me but not the Marmite Patrol. They struck gold yet again and all four link words were claimed within 10 minutes [even quicker than last week].

The first to be detected was HUMAN RACE at 09.02 by bridgenut and was followed within the required two minutes by FOUR other members of the HUMAN RACE! These were Jools, Dinkypuzzled, Aquagility & sarumite. Thats FIVE bonus points down the pan!

In the midst of this turmoil, Alibobs with HORSE CHESTNUT and started another beanfeast with sarumite & freebie joining in! YES, this is the second mention of sarumite to net FOUR points and making him Hot Shot of the Round. CHEERS ALL ROUND !

At 09.05, wickedtongue entered the fray to claim GRAND MASTER (how fitting is THAT!) and five minutes later in came our own foxy lady FOXLEE to claim the NATIONAL LOTTERY!
bit disappointed that nobody went for my original selection of GIFT HORSE although WOODEN and TROJAN both appeared.
I thought you would of picked Horse Manure cliffyg, I got a grand total of 0/4 !!!!
Cliffyg....I know what you're thinking!!!!...and Crofter- well your thoughts...hmmm!
I wish I could have claimed the REAL National Lottery but I'm delighted with my one hit.
paulineward - would you like to predict the words for next week so we can have a few days to mull them over.
P.S. Good job I didn't crow too much last week eh?!!
Even thinking what cliffyg might post didn't help!!

League Table (so far)

FOUR POINTS: paulineward, sarumite & bridgenut
THREE POINTS: Aquagility, JMR27 & Shaz
Eight others have amassed a total of two points and are well placed to strike next week

However, speaking to cliffyg, I know that he is very unhappy about the speed with which you are predicting his chosen links and next week I get the feeling that the going to become far more difficult. So come prepared to do bloody battle and equipped for mortal combat. [Marmite sarnies at ten paces]

Until then this is crofter signing off for another week.

Hope you enjoyed the competition.
If you did ~ remember who organises the event and does the scoring!
If you didnt ~ remember it was King Cliff who chose the words!!

:o)

Wow ... thanks crofter, I always wanted to be a "Hot Shot" !!
... but please don't tell the Ont-ices or they'll throw me out of the Freefall Club again ... and just when I had found a comfortable seat near the bar!
By the way thanks for doing so BADLY this week Pauline to let Bridgenut and myself join you :o) xx
Unlucky in the Grand National (horse down at the first fence).
Unlucky in the links game - horse never even saw the fence.
We must be lucky in something!!!!! LOVE.
Congratulations to all the more lucky ones who actually scored - well done.
Message for sarumite. Make up your mind. It's the Freefall club or the MM links. :-)
Cor Blimey .. I've been caught in the act !!!
The usual Null points here! But are we downhearted...?
Thanks C & C as ever great fun!
Thanks crofter - 2 points wow. :-)
Postscript: Thanks to cliffyg for the challenge. Might be sooooo easy for some of the shrubbery folks, but not soooo easy for those who can't get to the shrubbery for sustenance.
Many thanks also to Crofter. How could we ever forget whose organisational skills are at the controls and whose abacus keeps on clicking. clicking, clicking ....... Is there an echo in here?????
cliffyg...are you thinking St George's Day??? I won't tell anyone...it is close to next Saturday!...actually on the Monday...hmmm...I wonder!
My one point in my first try last week must have been a fluke as I got a big fat zero this week. well done to everyone who scored though and big thanks to those who set the link words and keep score. I won't be around next week, but hope to join you all the following Saturday.
