Why don't people who post questions and get answers from Q and P regular users give a rating or a thanks. It really pi**es me off. It is so easy to say thank you !!!

Do what I do teacher1 dont answer the ignorant ones that cant be bothered to say thanks.

I asked a similar question a few weeks ago having posted 6 answers and not hat a reply to any. I admit to being sarcastic and often thanking myself.

It`s not just on Q&P, it`s all over this site. I came on here this morning to see if someone I`d given an answer to 3 days ago had acknowledged it yet...you don`t need me to tell you the answer to that!

It`s not only new people who fail to thank...so would it be possible for management to put a little reminder somewhere, that everyone will see? We shouldn`t need to ask, but manners these days are not what they were!!!
I agree with you teacher1 - I usually try to do what kev100 suggested, Trouble is I forget which ones I want to avoid. It's so rude when people have gone to the trouble of giving an answer. It really does not take much effort to click a button and award stars when you read your reply's. But we've had this discussion many times and it doesn't make any difference.
agree with you teach, but i'm starting to remember names of them that never say thanks so then i can ignore them!

another example!
Although not very regular, my answers still exceed my questions be a factor of 10.
I disagree with Snowy Owl though. I don't want thanks where the thanker has had to be reminded. As in life it's nice to get a word of thanks, but only if it comes from the heart.

Thanks very much for your replies. I posted my moan after a night out. When I came home I checked where I had given answers and found no response at all. It really is not on. Thanks to you all again.
I responded to Jan1956s post a few weeks ago, and ,yes it really gets to me as well. You wouldn't ask someone a question in your everyday life and when they respond with an answer ingnore them would you? I think if enough people don't repond to the main culprits, they may just get the message

Thanks mazie.
Good morning, Teacher.
I'm afraid I'm rather like jimjools in that I can't recall who didn't give thanks. I'd better start writing down the names.
I know it's annoying as are the folks who know the answers and tell the questioner to 'Look it up in Google.'
I always presume that the person has already done so and couldn't find it otherwise they wouldn't be asking.
It takes all sorts and some sorts are nicer than others.
That's not the answer, I know. But you know, as a teacher, that manners, like everything else, are taught.
Of course there is always the option of teaching oneself the niceties of life. Perhaps they just don't care to do so.

Good evening ( here ) ontarioice. Thanks for your comment. I just can't understand why it is so difficult for some people to say " thanks " - It's not a difficult word to pronounce !
Hi Sir
I quite agree and have said this myself many times ..it takes seconds just to say thanks or click on the little star buttons ..at least you then know your answer has been read and acknowledged.I answer questions over the site in other categories too and people are so "desperate" to know this that or the other ..but nine times out ten they are not desperate to thank you for your efforts. It annoys me too but it's just another sign of the times I'm afraid.People push and shove and are in your face with their rude behaviour and bad manners in real life and it trickles into cyber world as well. They have days for things ....we should campaign for a "Good Manners" day !
I agree with everything that has been said about returning thanks for any answers given to to questions.
I have just looked at my profile, and I find that, since joining AB in Dec 2005., I have given answers to 156 questions, and only yesterday, I asked my first question, and got immediate replies from JMR27. I thanked him/her, and tried to add star ratings, but obviously I didn't hit 'Submit'. I have now rectified that.
My thanks to all ABers who have supplied answers to other members, and from which I have been able to gain information to complete my Saga crosswords. I do my best to delve for answers, before checking out with AB.

Thank you shaneystar2 and NILYA for your replies. I suppose it's just a sign of the times unfortunately !
i do thank poeple who have helped, but what purpose does the rating serve? you have nearly helped me? you have solved my problem? is'nt a thank you sufficient?
Question Author
Yes. A " Thank You " is quite sufficient. Thanks for your comment.
