I wonder if your riverside county could be Strathclyde? Someone who has a better grasp of Scots would know, but I think a Strath is the land beside a river.
Incidentally Spog I'm not saying that Strathclyde is definitly the right answer, just that Elly's interpretation is correct.

Although Strathclyde sounds O.K. to me

Spog It sounds like a difficult Quiz. I have a couple of places that are bugging me! They may not be correct, but here they are: Glamorgan and Cricklewood!


The eye is the organ of sight and they are often glammed up!
