Many thanks. You are amazing to know that. I have now looked it up and it is one of Dr Dolittle's characters, a rare two-headed llama-type creature.

janeoliver, have you got as far as no72 yet.can you throw any light on this as we are all dying slowly?

regards brian

Question Author
Brian. I am having same trouble with 72 too. But I have found this, "Treaty establishing the EAEC Protocol on the Statute of the Court of Justice of European Atomic Energy Community," Brussels, 17 April 1957. I think it is known as Euratom (Energy) Statute. I am not sure if this is the answer. What do you think Brian? It is killing me slowly too.

JaneOliver, you seem too nice a person to be a hardened quizzer like some of us.to stop you asking questions one at a time ,here is a check list of all 10

starting from 1,10 on each line.

Brian. Thanks again for replying. I must be very slow, but I do not understand what you have sent me. I am new to this. I do appreciate that you have gone to a lot of trouble. I am really impressed that you have done all except one, I believe. You have not said what you thought of my info on No. 72. I am still sweating over this one. When I go on to this site, it still opens up with old answers. I do not know how to stop it doing this.

Regards Jane

Question Author

Brian. Sorry for not replying sooner. As I was getting into bed last night, I realised that you had sent me the first letter of all 100 answers. How kind of you to do that for me. I apologise for being a bit thick about what you had sent me. I was feeling rather tired as I had hurt my back and am taking pain killers, which seem to have dulled my brain!! Your Brecon Beacons is right for No. 72. I think you are extremely clever for managing to do that one. How did you find the answer? Pam, a friend of mine has asked me to help her with Double Trouble. She posted my copy to me on the 6th December having done 15 of them already. She does not have a computer so the rest of the questions have more or less been left to me. I now have 4 left which I am quite stuck on Nos. 47 53, 82, 96. If you feel like giving me some help it would be much appreciated. Your tip about the search bar last night was very helpful. It will save me a lot of time. I have learnt all sorts of interesting things from tackling these questions. I enjoyed reading about Winston Churchill and Bessie Braddock. It made me laugh. I was also enralled by the story of Peter the Painter. I am trying to get this quiz finished by Xmas so I can concentrate on brushing up my Italian in the New Year. I am going to Venice for a long weekend at the end of January. On Saturdays I usually have a go at the DT General Knowledge crossword. Thanks again for all your help, tips and encouragement.

Question Author

Hi Brian. A very big thank you for the missing three. I do not feel I deserve to enter with all the help I've had. I hope you win the compo. Just one point, i've checked all the first letters. I disagree with you on No. 18, I have Pink Panther. I am probably wrong. If you do the Sat Telegraph General Knowledge crossword, we may correspond over that as I often get stuck and need to look on the Answer Bank. Very importantly, I wish you a Very Happy Christmas and New Year. I have enjoyed our chats too, they have meant a lot to me.

Regards, Jane

hi jane,we can agree to disagree i think.my reasoning is that adamant is a jewel.now you are going to tell me so is a pink panther

merry christmas,

regards ,brian

hi jane,

its hobsons choice! in the film with kevin kline the pink panther was a diamond ring.i am leaning towards your answer .now if i had two entry forms....

regards,brian.....this quiz is never going to go away

Question Author

Hi Brian. I have no idea who is right. I did not know about adamant having that meaning before. Please do not worry too much about what I say. I helped Pam with this quiz last year and was disappointed as over a quarter of our answers were wrong. Admittedly, I did not have the answerbank and a friend like you helping me. Also, this is the first time that I have finished it without guessing the missing ones. Again thanks to you.

Question Author

Hi Brian. I forgot to say this yesterday. Of course, I'll be happy to tell you all about our trip to Venice. It is good of you to ask. I hope the Editor does not mind us using this thread for chatting! This chatterbank on this Answerbank is not working at present, as I was going to suggest I use that after longweekend away at end of January. Do you tackle the Daily Telegraph Sat. General Knowledge crossword?

Regards, Jane
