Just a bit of fun but a friend tells me she’s fed up with her family. The kids only call when they want something and the husband does his own thing in his own busy world. A light-hearted conversation with a lot of laughs - but she says she’s considering doing a Reggie Perrin… just simply disappearing and letting them all get on with it. If you ever considered that option where would you go and what would you do?

no, it would leave too many people hurt. Besides which i couldn;t think of anywhere to go. You leave a trail behind you come what may, credit / debit cards being one.
i think we all get fed up with our families at times, i did when Mr Em was alive, but had invested a long time in our relationship, and besides i am a hang on in there type of person, if you know what i mean
Ah well, there's a bit of fun out the window right away.

Aye, be good to disappear for a while and somebody would set up a Just Giving page to keep the wife in sherry and fags until I got fed up with my own company.
in the SDS they did it a lot
no not the students for a democratic society ( terrorist organisation in the US in the seventies would you believe )

Yup. Honestly, I very much doubt if anyone would notice.

Oh yes.....I would love to walk away from it all...trouble is the financial aspect. I have no desire to leave my share of 2 houses behind...or the contents of my accounts. No I am not wealthy but I am too old to start from scratch...
To Lanzarote on a sun bed beside the sea but that's a bit selfish, instead I'd lock the door ,stop the milk and turn phones off ...well at least for an hour :0)))
its a good question and one i think lots of people hanker after, but the reality of where to go, would you miss them all in the end, i suspect that rings true.
what if you fall ill....
Thank you Em.
My wife keeps telling me she is homesick..

I told her she was at home.

"I know" she said "I am sick of it"
some people can't go walkabout Mozz, without someone noticing.
Malibu & explore LA, Vegas, desert & those gorgeous mountains on horseback
There was this couple who were so fed up that a suicide pact seemed a good idea.

Off they go to Beachy Head and she jumped first.

Husband looked down the cliff and said " Blow it, i'll soldier on.
Tambo, wouldn't you need money for that, credit cards and such.
My wife and I have each always had‘ a running away fund’. Just in case one of us gets too fed up with the life we share.
Sell-up & am off ;)
It's a nice idea, as long as it remains just that - an idea.

Practicalities and emotions can be glossed over to make a TV series, less avoidable in real life.

I have this dream of travelling to Europe and finding Veronica Vanoza and offering her a four figure sum for an evening of her company, and then going to LA and getting a job on a radio station.

It will never happen, but it's a dream ...
