angie, I can't provide a link. but I remember that it was said.
I remember it stating that you could point out such things but you had to do it in such a way that askers were not deterred, otherwise the post would be removed".
To be fair to Angie, she simply pointed out the title and setters rules of the quiz, she wasn't rude and as the question had already been asked then Canonball was not deterred.
Oh dear Cannonball you have opened a can of worms!!
Angie, it's perfectly fine to point out that a particular quiz says 'no asking', but I think 'should not have posted the question' is not true and also unwelcoming to new posters.
Other people have by their reactions.
Angie's first response was perfect, what followed was because she was pounced on.

For heavens sake someone answer the question then we can move on.
I wish I could Lynne, but haven't a clue.
Nical, the OP has been a member since 2006, so hardly new.
I got banned from this quiz, hence I don't need any of the answers :-)
Angie, I didn't mean the OP - I meant any new solvers looking in could have read your 'should not be asking' and thought it was a fact, rather than just your viewpoint. I happen to agree with your viewpoint, but the Ed doesn't ...as has been said many times!
Mamya, why were you banned, did you win too often?
Banning somebody from a charity quiz only serves to lessen the amount raised for the charity.
For querying an obviously incorrect answer, didn't want the result overturned but a simple acknowledgement - instead I was told to never darken their door again.

There were a few on here who agreed the answer was wrong, muggins here was the spokesperson.

I was disappointed, but these things happen.
I understood we could politely say if a quiz was no asking and the Ed was fine with that. Some people will then still answer the question but some will not. Someone must have a link to show where that has now changed
A bit over the top on the part of the setter.
Thanks, Mamya - an interesting story, and better than hearing you'd been disqualified for winning too often!
smouse, it hasn't changed the point being 'politely'.
Exactly, Angie's very first response was fine and it should have been left at that rather than challenged.
Thank you Mamya.
