Can someone please check Chambers to see if there is a boat called a SAMARAN

Samaritan = saintly sinner - (but with "it" cut out) = samaran
My dictionary doesn't have it, but you never know!
Not in the '98 copy, JJ.
Thanks Jo - obviously not right then. I was hopeful as it ended with the same ending as catamaran etc!

Nor in 2014 Edition.
One I'm also stuck on - my fuzzy reasoning so far

But many of the answers are names of famous ships.
bismark ? mark is a saint but not sure of the bis
Saintstim. Where proper names of ships are used they are indicated by an asterisk at the end of the clue. This clue is not marked so the answer should be a type of vessel eg steamer as opposed to its proper name eg HMS Victory.
Dannyk “vessels that travel on water” is the heading of the section and not part of the clue so the answer I think, is singular.
And by the way, I can’t figure this one out either but jj, I like your reasoning.
