Most Tories these days, are smug, self satisfied predictable and uncaring. They vote Tory because that is what people like them do.They support a Prime Minister who is now a wounded animal, and is so desperate that she is prepared to bite the tail of the Russian Tiger, regardless of the consequences, just so long as it makes her look strong. She has failed in almost everything she touches but the unthinking Tory supporters dont even notice.
I do not support the Russians but TM the PM has jumped on the Band Waggon .

A modern day Tory is what used to be called a Whig. Liberal, spineless and useless. TM may be a wounded animal but she ain't dead yet!
I read this as Modern Day Troy. :-)
Are you on your high wooden horse, Tilly?:-)
I'm just amazed you know most Tories.
you're a bit of a comedian, gulliver you'll fit in well.

The party or the voters?

The former are largely people who want power, and will do or say anything they can get away with to get and keep it: any donation, any lie, any favour, any promise, any policy. There's essentially no coherent ideology or principle: It's all just power at any cost. Labourites,of course, are also power hungry, but are more likely to view power as a means to altering society (to a greater or lesser extent) than an end in itself.

The latter are, as always, more complicated and diverse. Tory voters tend to believe in limited public spending, limiting taxation (though usually are not too bothered about surveillance or civil rights). Tend to be a bit closer to the centre, tend to be more traditionalist in outlook. Tory voters are usually suspicious of Labourite/left-wing aims to change society, regardless of how tepid or radical these actually are. I think it's probably fair to say that an average Tory voter views this as an illegitimate, dangerous or wasteful use of power. In terms of "profile", they're likely to be homeowners, to be older, and to be white - but these are of course complete generalisations and tendencies rather than cast iron rules. They're also less likely to have degrees (because degrees were rarer in the past than they are now).

Bless..

Most Lefties these days are self conscious, disaffected and liable to show temper tantrums, whilst having an inbuilt self preservation mean streak.
I am not a Tory but that is honestly largely a load of old nonsense
>>>Most Tories these days, are smug, self satisfied predictable and uncaring.

What a pathetic, bigoted, narrow minded, biased thing to say.

Most people vote Tory because the know what is best for the country.

Voting Labour has always been a disaster and once they get voted out of power the Tories have to come in and sort out the financial mess they have left.

Everyone votes for whoever because they think they know what is best for themselves and the country.
Name-calling and stereotyping by left or right is pretty shallow and tedious.
I will say this for the PM: she and her husband were out in the rain in Maidenhead this weekend marshalling at a road race. I doubt if there was a massive photo opportunity in it.
I can’t possible imagine a lot of foreign leaders doing that: Putin at his local judo club doing a spot of judging, knowing there’ll be no live tv coverage? Don’t make me laugh
Most Gullivers these days are smug, self satisfied predictable and dare I say by some of their posts, brainless.

But we tolerate agullivers as this is a free democratic country.

Most Gullivers support uncontrolled and unsustainable immigration, uncontrolled spending and borrowing and have no idea how damaging that will be.

They do this by supporting a supporter of terrorists, who call enemy's his friend and would roll over and play dead rather than defend the country and people.

But we tolerate Gullivers as this is a free democratic country.

What an utterly ridiculous OP. This really is 'fake news'.
Don't think that I could ever support any party that appoints a cross dressing comedian on to it's national executive committee.
nice nails though, Eddie

i am not smug or self satisfied, and i believe for the moment Theresa May is doing the right thing.
