Monday. I've got to be out the door at eight, on the canal.

It's a balmy 6.6°C outside this morning. I'll still need the warm clobber though. What time I'll be back home I have no idea. So I hope it warms up a bit. Out this evening. All go init!

Have a happy day everyone.

How's me old mate today?
Question Author
I'm fine thanks old buddy. I hope it's warm enough today, otherwise it's going to be a bit of a damp squib.

All well in downsideupland?
Downsideupland in my neck of the woods is good today thanks, you know why ;-)

Some parts have had too much moisture, others not enough.

You needed it mate. It'll help to prevent those awful bush fires.
All the farmers in my region have been busy sowing seed.
Hopefully this rain will create a good crop and their wives will have money to spend on my wood and metal work ;-)

I should think everyone is happy. Doesn't do much for the barbie parties though! ;o}
Bit of rain, nah, barbie under an awning.

All systems go!
Question Author
Why doesn't that surprise me! :o} Organised.
Mate, the temperature can be in the negatives.

Barbie, bring it on ;-/

Nothing quite like a perfect steak, chop, rissole, snag, no matter what animal it was made from.

Can't argue with that! :o}

In a good summer, it's not too unusual to be going along on the canal and see barbies on the go all along the towpath.

And here was I thinking Poms don't understand the beauty of a real barbie ;-)

Silly me!!!

Oh yes we do mate! ;o} In good weather mine gets used more than the cooker. It's a big gas one, so no smoke to annoy the neighbours, it has a hotplate as well as the grid, so I can fry eggs on it too. A good bit of kit.
I stand corrected.

In the meanwhile.

In summer I would cook breakfast on it for me and Vera. she made the tea. We spent more time out there than indoors. Many a beautiful evening we would still be out there at 11PM, a book each, a bottle of wine or two on the go and Tiggy's mum on the scrounge for supper.
Question Author
Thanks for that. ;o}
Outdoors beats indoors any day, unless the weather is atrocious.

I'm going to have a tub, wash todays grime away then get dinner happening. Home made chicken kiev with roast spud, sweat spud and cheesy cauliflower with broccoli and peas.

Have a great day old mate!!!
"sweet" spud,,,not the sweaty version ;-)
Question Author
That sounds great!

Have a good'un my friend.
