If I was going to Norwich, I'd be drinking in the King's Head (possibly the best real ale pub in East Anglia), the Golden Star (lovely landlady, great food) or the Belgian Monk (pricey - but great Belgian beers).

I had an appointment in Ipswich, so I didn't have any choice but Ipswich is actually a great town for bars and restaurants these days anyway.
