Good Morning Early Birds!

Thursday. No frost this morning, it's dry and calm. Showing 4°C outside.

A most enjoyable lunch yesterday at the Rose and Crown. The ambiance of the building was welcoming as soon as we walked through the door. Quite a varied menu. I opted for an old favourite, ham, eggs and chips. All local produce, and it all tasted as it should, the chips were big and chunky cooked to perfection, fluffy inside and crispy outside. Very reasonably priced too. The barmaid/waitress was very good, a ready smile, well turned out and nicely spoken. a very pleasent experience which I shall repeat.

Good morning waterboatman -I've been up since 2 didn't think that there would be anyone about then. Couldn't sleep sprained my ankle 12 days ago and it is giving me a bit of gip. Weather mild but I did hear a bit of rain earlier but hopefully it will clear up. Ham egg and chips sounds good - what is known in these parts as a Yorkshire tea. can't beat a good meal in a well run friendly pub.

Good morning GG. Nice to see you. Sorry about the ankle. you don't realise how important they are until something like that happens do you.

I'm usually lurking about early. It's my job to wake up the birds for the dawn chorus. I've left them asleep for another hour or two this morning. :o}

yers, it's surprising how much HEC can vary isn't it.

I don't know yet what I'm going to do with the rest of the day yet, but I'm sure something will come to mind.

I'm ok thanks boaty . Got a nice surprise this morning. Somebody has put a little box of chocs through my letterbox. It's small, in the shape of a heart and contains 3 champagne truffles. Sooooo, I have a secret valentine. It's just got my name on it and two xx . Needless to say, the chocs have now been demolished .
