Anyone watching this? How magical was James Ward in turning round that match to beat Sam Querry. Good luck or talent?

Yup, well done Andy Murray and also James Ward for his surely vital win over Sam Querrey earlier.

James Ward seems to save his best tennis for the Davis Cup -- otherwise he can have a few good matches but tends to struggle to string any of them together. Davis Cup probably the format that suits him, then.

I agree Jim360. Consistency seem to be a drawback for him.
I think Querry lost it rather than Ward winning it. The fifth rubber should be between a jubilant Ward and a dispirited Young. It should be an interesting match.
I didn't see it, but thought it was a great win for Ward. Good on him.
I wonder if they'll put Murray in the doubles, or give it up as a lost cause and assume he'll win his singles.
Murray not playing the doubles after all. Probably the wiser course as Bryan brothers are about the best doubles team ever.
Yep, probably best to rest him for the singles.
Determination I think.

Well, Fleming and Inglot just lost the doubles. I had thought they would. As Jim360 said the Bryan brothers are the best doubles players. Tomorrow will be exciting.
Yeah, bit of a pity, hard to see that Murray who isn't a doubles specialist would have made too much difference. Maybe made the points a bit longer at times, there seemed to be a lot of short points -- but either way, good luck to him and James Ward tomorrow.
The Bryans were always going to win this one. Come on, Andy.
Surely, he will beat Querry.
1st game - Murray breaks the American's serve
and now the American breaks back in the 6th
This match isn't going to be as easy for Murray as I thought it might be... a set up but very tight, and on serve in the second set.
it looks like he's just going to edge each set and so win 3-0
Nope -- one set apiece with both ending on tie-breaks.
bang goes that theory
Now 2-1 up in Sets is Murray, after a 6-1 mini-romp, so looking all good now.
is the end nigh?
Bit of both perhaps.....come on Andy M - he's almost there - some sublime lobs and drop shots reining in - did you see that drop off Querry's serve? Outrageous.
jolly good show (eventually, phew)

first victory over USA since 1935
