Spell Check

Do we now have spell check on AB?
I seem to be getting a wiggly line under certain words

Not that I know of, I don't get a wiggly line (I'm on IE9)

What browser do you use? If Firefox or Chrome those have a built-in spellchecker. Might be that...

I get them to on Firefox and to make it worse it's American and keeps telling me I've spelt organise wrong but will accept organize etc.

As Society has suggested, it will be your browser which is offering the spell checking facility.

You probably made the mistake of downloading Firefox from the front page of the Firefox site, instead of clicking on 'Systems and Languages' which would have allowed you to download the British version.

All you have to do to fix your problem is to download this add-on:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/british-english-dictionary/

Once it's installed, try it out by typing 'colour' into an answer box here on AB. If it's not underlined, the British dictionary is active. (Try typing 'color' to check). If 'colour' is underlined, simply right-click on it and you'll find an option to switch to the British dictionary (which will then work thereafter).

Your second post wasn't there when I started typing. I suggest checking which dictionary is installed (US or British), as above, and (if necessary) installing the British dictionary add-on.

Your Firefox browse probably automatically upgraded itself and so you now have a spell checker.

You can change the default language in Firefox by going to the Options, then select the Content tab, and in the Languages section of that page choose the language you want e.g. English/United Kingdom [en-gb].
