Can anybody tell me how to work out the answer to this sum:

4n+4 (10th term)

Am I interpreting this correctly?

You are looking for the SUM (sigma) of the function 4n+4 for n= 1 to 10.
If I am correct, then you use the following method:

(1st term + last term)/2 then multiplied by the number of terms.

44 if the nth term is 4n+4
I think gen2 may be using the rule for the sum of a series
It may help if you can specify the exact question.
If it's GCSE maths it will just be a question about the nth term so it's 44
