We were in the yellow area (met office) but no snow & now it's raining. It's warmed up considerably, school pick-up was so cold but now I am too warm!

Been raining here for last 2hours, snow so deep it has had effect on it yet, we had about ten inches altogether.

It rained here (sleet) for about an hour earlier (Bolton near J4 M61)). Since about 6.30 we've had about 6 inches of snow and it's still slowing.

M6 has been closed J27 - J25. Lorries and cars stopped all over the carriageway.
Sky News. looks like an accident southbound but north also stopped.
